Not this time however as I really worked hard on this photo project and was very happy with the final result - a gallery showing last month in Plano, TX. Anyway, the photo show was called "Sea Spaces, a photographic exploration of cruise ships". I’ve put the show images onto this quick animation so you can get a feel for it.

blip.tv

<media:category>Entertainment</media:category>

Houston Photographer Rolls With Derby Girls and New Book

<img src="http://thumbnails.truveo.com/0008/6C/0A/6C0A448CC342DE60CAED02.jpg"><br>http://www.texasphotobuffet.com/ Houston fine art photographer Shelley Calton discusses her work and focuses in on her new book "Hard Knocks, Rolling with the Derby Girls" which is to be officially released September 1 by her German publisher Kehrer Verlag Heidelberg. The book is skillfully conceived, well written and the photos are beautifully printed. The video can only touch on the finished product. (which is now available at AMAZON.COM) Shelley’s photographic staple is an old Speed Graphic camera which she uses for a variety of fine art projects. For "Hard Knocks" she also shot with a medium format camera with 3200 asa film.

blip.tv

<media:category>Entertainment</media:category>

Dallas Photographer

blip.tv

<media:category>Entertainment</media:category>

Horenstein Gallery Opening

<img src="http://thumbnails.truveo.com/0004/1F/13/1F13E2DDB779A3760623B4.jpg"><br>For myself, Henry Horenstein is kind of like that character actor you always recognize even if you don’t always remember his name. I've been aware of Mr. Horenstein's photographs and books for many years but I didn't' always remember his name. He showed up on Saturday at the Afterimage Gallery here in Dallas and after meeting and filming him at his show opening I think I won't forget his name anymore. He showed images from his two books Animalia and Honky Tonk. Very divergent work. Almost looked like the work of two different photographers. Henry is currently instructor at the Rhode Island School of Design. He's taught photography much of his career. I found him gregarious, unpretentious and fun. I had an enjoyable night at the Afterimage looking at photos and listening to Henry discuss his work. If you weren't there this video is the next best thing. Put "Henry Horenstein" in Google and you'll get a plethora of info on the man, his books and his photos. Enjoy.

blip.tv

<media:category>Entertainment</media:category>
