In the wake of her death a group of survivors of psychiatric atrocities formed an alliance to condemn violations of human rights against individuals who are assigned psychiatric labels. This group of citizens called themselves WE THE PEOPLE. On July 25, 2008 WE THE PEOPLE held a candlelight vigil to mourn the loss of Ms. Esmin Elizabeth Green and to call attention to the every day tortures committed in the name of psychiatric "help" including diagnosing life’s challenges as ''illness," forced pharmaceuticals, restraint, seclusion, and electric shock treatment otherwise known as ECT.This video is a brief glimpse at the 2008 vigil. One year has gone by and WE THE PEOPLE has continued their efforts to fight for human rights. On the anniversary of Ms. Green&#8217;s death there will be another vigil to demand justice and fight for change.

blip.tv

<media:category>Entertainment</media:category>

BAN BRAIN-DAMAGING ELECTROSHOCK ON KIDS

<img src="http://xml.truveo.com/th/h/4b0d515c3ed2148:39bb8c69ea44ef73f170b3aa1687aad6/p/0010/4C/41/4C41C9F5DEBBBF150ED8F6.jpg"><br>Children, youth and adults hold a demonstration to demand that the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) ban the use of electroshock on children under 16.
