The crisis erupted last weekend after Colombia sent troops inside Ecuador in a deadly raid on a rebel camp. Ecuador and ally Venezuela responded with a military build up along the Colombian border- Both countries, along with Nicaragua also cut diplomatic ties with Colombia- The resolution of the dispute was a surprise ending to what started out as a tense meeting with leaders trading barbs Uribe accused Correa of links to guerilla fighters. Correa responded----calling Uribe a liar. With the border crisis now resolved, Venezuela, Ecuador and Nicaragua have agreed to restore diplomatic ties with Colombia. Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez said he hoped commercial ties with Colombia will improve and said he would reopen Venezuela's frontier to Colombian trade.
